You'll loose LOTS of power, and youre PCM will be constantly re-adjusting to new octane levels, which robs power, and milage. It'* worse milage to switch back and forth between 89 and say 91, then to run straight 89. DEFINETLY run your octane rating, or a step higher.
My experience with lower octane fuel in a supercharged car you'll not only lose power but experience spark knock as boost increases. Before my mother put 87 octane in my Tbird it would turn 15 psi boost all the time. But once she put that lower octane mess in there I couldn't get it to turn up 5 psi without major car rattling spark knock. The car couldn't compensate for that great an octane difference.
