Great advice, especially for the weatherstripping. I've been using silicone on it every year since a few years back I had to pry the door open with a clawhammer during an ice storm. Haven't had a problem like that since.
Yeah...I had to get to work, and didn't have time to warm things up first. I was careful, though. I put a strip of rubber under the claw, and a block of wood under the hammer to protect the car. I could have used about 4 more arms to arrange everything, but it did pop open that way, and without any damage. I did promise myself that wouldn't happen again though so, every fall the weatherstripping gets lubed up with silicone grease. Oh, and to give you a sigh of relief...it wasn't a Bonneville...it was my Chrysler Concord (everyone'* entitled to one mistake.
