In my own opinion i believe if your going to remake a classic, at least try to toss in some cues of the classic. I don't mean make it identical but give it the same things that it was known for back in the day. I believe that GM did a great job with this on the GTO. The GTO wasn't the best looking car back in the 60'*. It was better known for its powerful engine options. I think thats why people liked it back then, and why people like it know. You roll up to some kid in a ricer at a stop light, he revs his engine (yes, all 1.8 liters of it wakes ups and roars...) thinking that he is the man...... but as soon as you rev your engine the smirk on his face goes away and he feels like a complete moron. In my opinion, the GTO is a success. Now if GM will only think something up about a '06, '07 Chevelle......

This doesn't nessiccarily mean to make a retro car, but rather one that fits the deffinition of GTO better. The GTO wasn't always the "fastest, most bada$$ looking" muscle car around. It had fairly tame roots. But either way, the design today does not reflect any part of the GTO history, and that is a shame.
They gave it a good heart. But it ain't got no soul!

I love them, if I had the money I have one Hugger Orange with a stripe and hoodscoops and a hood tach. And I'll called it the JUDGE.

i think they should have taken at least SOME cues from the old grille. its got a reputation to protect. The performance is good, and it will get better as time goes on.

That Holden Monero reminds me of the newer malibus. I personnally wouldn't mind having one of the new malibu maxx cars. Could put alot of speakers and TVs in that car.
I first thought the GTO was a grand prix with rear wheel and a V8. Plus they are pricey considering no ram air package.

the GTO has been for the most part criticized about it'* apperance; Most car magazines agree with it'* power and performance (surprisingly) I read in my local paper the GTO is due for a slight make over next year.

Comes with a few upgrades ram-air hood, 18ich rims (option) new exaust outlets and some other stuff, Iremeber them saying the AZTEK sold more units than the GTO this year so far (quarterly I suppose) that might be one of the reasons they prompted a change, I just don't remember all cause I skimmed over the article.

Does the GTO have an optioned sunroof? I've never seen one in the mags or at the dealer I guess not?

For all thos who thought the GTO didn't have enough bulges to be a real GTO than check what'* going to be in store next year. While it says Monaro on the number plate, the new GTO will also look like this because frankly they sell more GTO'* tha they do Monaro'*.
