On my model the cup holder is kinda part of the center console latching system-so when the little hook that keeps the top closed gave out...I had to replace everything, cup holder included. Yeah, they are touchy little fragile things.

Mine was broken between the time the previous owner traded in the car and the time two days later when I swung the deal to purchase it; some gorilla at the dealership broke it. They put a new one in right away and I've been careful with it ever since.

I've also broken the tooth off the console lid latch, and got a replacement right away, but I never installed it since the cover stays closed okay anyway. I'll probably put the new lid liner in (the part on which the latch tooth is attached) when I sell the car.
