Is the new Pontiac G8 will be considered in this forum site?

Default Is the new Pontiac G8 will be considered in this forum site?

Since the Bonneville name has disappeared from GM line-up,
I am wondering if the new Pontiac G8 model will be considered as
a Bonneville continuity in the Bonneville club?
Is this something the administrators have considered yet?

We've discussed adding a G8 section for those that can't tolerate some of the other communities.

I pointed out to them that the G8 is closer to a Bonneville in nearly every dimension, and in many cases was the biggest of three. Some argued, some said it'* for both. In either case, I don't think it really works as part of a Bonneville forum or a Grand Prix forum. It literally has nothing in common with any of them besides a badge. The knowledge base for the G8 would be a seperate of people.

Grand Prixs can try to claim it, but they are just kidding themselves. If anything, GTO forums can claim it. At least its based off a redesign of the same car that way.

I will and always will think of it as a replacement for the Bonneville more than a GP. The general dimensions, weight, and options make it closer to a Bonneville more than anything. The GP fanboys can argue it up and down, but they are wrong.

i do agree with the sense that the G8 is like the new Bonneville and i do like them a lot and actually want one but it is a totally different platform. new engine, body, electronics and everything. a whole different discussion that "i think" should be on a whole different forum. with a whole new car platform thrown into this forum it would make the forum a lot harder to navigate, search, etc.... just my 2 cents

Pontiac/GM is the one who said it is replacing the Grand Prix
Bonneville was never mentioned.

As much as I want to call the G8 the successor to the Bonneville, the only thing that will ever be a Bonneville to me is a Bonneville.

I knew people in Orion Twp who made (some of) them and while I'm sure the Aussies make a great car, it just ain't the same.

It'll be part of the LSx crowd, LS1gto.com etc...

It'* a 4 door GTO, much more for performance than a bonne ever was conceived..
