local driving was about 40% city and 60% regular highway....averaged 26 mpg with just me in the car.

hi-way trip was all 4 lane to pick up friends at the airport. steady driving, cruise set on 75 but on the way back there was 3 of us and a trunkload of luggage....got 33mpg.

not bad for an 89 with almost 300,000km(187,000miles) on the odometer!
These 3800'* (all the different versions we have) can get suprising mileage on highway runs. Coming back from South Dakota, with the cruise set between 75 and 80 I got almost 37 MPG. Of course, it was flatter than a pancake and whatnot, and I never expect to see it again, but it was fun for that one run.

I managed to see 28.something on a trip through indiana (3 others in the car, but flat as a board)

Most of the time in town (Cincinnati is slightly hilly and a friggan stop-go traffic nightmare) I see an average of 16-17 per tank... I really need something to help with that... Anyone figgured out how to turn off 2 cylinders yet?

I'm hoping that my new O2 sensor will push me up past my all time high of ~23.

My current mileage that I am getting on my 90 LE is 26mpg. 28 miles to work. 23 hwy and 5 city streets. Not too bad for my bonnie with as many miles as I have.

Coming back from Denver going to North Platte, NE , cruising at 80, never touched the pedals for 250 miles (it was early in the am and no traffic). I had 4 people, loaded trunk and only managed 33 MPG. I might have to bite the bullet and replace my original O2 sensor.
