after hearing you guys talk about mileage and having put in a new timing chain and gears i thought maybe i should do a mileage check both local and hi-way. i thought it was ok till i read this today....now i'm thinking i should be really impressed!
local driving was about 40% city and 60% regular highway....averaged 26 mpg with just me in the car.
hi-way trip was all 4 lane to pick up friends at the airport. steady driving, cruise set on 75 but on the way back there was 3 of us and a trunkload of luggage....got 33mpg.
not bad for an 89 with almost 300,000km(187,000miles) on the odometer!
