Default Need Opinions on new fuel tank

Alright, so I'm considering finally taking the old fuel tank out, as well as probably replacing the fuel pump and such. I've had the sputter-when-turning issue for quite some time and figure its about time to do something about it...

I've come to find two major replacement tanks... Spectre and Dorman. I was going to get the Dorman, but can anyone else chime in on this one?

Also, any input on recommendations for the pump (etc) would also be appreciated.

Spectra is what went into my car. It'* a tank..it'* working fine. You will probably find the quality on the Dorman to be higher though.

Okay, now that the man has spoken... I was mainly curious if the Dorman was the end-all-be-all tank that everybody would say to get just because it seems EVERY place places them on the pedestal. I didn't see anything wrong with the Spectra, so that may be the way I go (economically). Thanks.

Best thing you can do is get the tank, a couple cans of brake cleaner and some good rust proofing paint.

When you get the tank.. wear gloves and be careful how you handle it. There are lots of sharp edges. Then clean down the outside with brake cleaner and paint it up with plenty of coats, allowing them to dry well.

If you want to.. and the paint is 100% dry. Get some quality rubberized undercoating and give it a little coating with that as well. Geez...here I go giving away all my secrets..lol
