Default need Help buying and info on 96 3800 */c

I'm looking to buy a 96 park ave ultra, and i was wondering is there anything with the drivetrain, since its the same as your 96 bonnys, that i should look for or ask about when looking at potential 96 utlras?

Thanks!

Michael

Also, i'm looking at one now, but its In RICHMOND, VA and i live in Connecticut. I was wondering if any fellow members that live around the area, wouldn't mind checking the car out, maybe taking it for a test drive, etc The addy of the dealership is

Saturn of West Broad
8066 West Broad Street
Richmond, VA 23294

Thanks again.

Mike, can you tell us the mileage on this Ultra? As a general rule, you will not have to worry about the intake failing and the resulting coolent/oil mix or hydrolock problems associated with the N/A Series II. You may have to watch the intake gasket, though, as these can sometimes leak air from the induced presure of the SC. You should listen to the SC for rattling noises (usually an easy $29.00 fix), and check the SC oil for proper level and clarity. Also check the nose drive for leaks. The L67 Series II is an amazing engine! So long as the mileage is reasonable, you should be very happy.

Just be aware that with performance comes Premium gas prices. You'll get used to it, though.

The milage is 67061. Thanks for the info, only prob is i can't get to VA to check it out in person, i have a bad feeling this one is going to slip through my hands, its so hard to find a 96 ultra with a moonroof and the gran touring package with decent low milage.

Heres the link to it though, so beautiful, lol

That looks very clean. There is a service available that will do an inspection on potential buys. I would look into it. This car looks like a deal. I would see if they will through in a warrenty.

Hi

That car NADA'* at near 10 grand.

If it carfaxes out ok, I would suggest calling...and try to make a deal over the phone. Be prepared to just go and try to do business in person. Its too risky trying to do this thru the auction...you may lose it that way.
