We have had a ton of rain here lately. I was driving home in a real bad storm, lots of rain and lightening, I took off from a stop and the car just died.....lights worked, radio worked, but it just stopped. I coasted through the intersection and stopped. I waited a minute, and it started right up.
I drove about a mile and the interior lights came on all by themselves for 15 seconds and then went out. The car has been running well since...
My car is not white
Is this the ugly VATS shorting out from water?

Vat'* doesn't stall the car, only keeps it from starting.
If you had a vats issue..the most you'd get is a 3 second start and then stall. If it happened once and only once with the other stuff you mention, I'd think something got wet.

Something must have gotten wet. This last winter going through the car wash something got wet and the radio stopped working for about 20 minutes. So i agree something must have gotten wet. And i know we have gotten alot of rain lately. I have been having break problems because of the rain.
