My car wont hold an alignment!
I've had a front end alignment done on my car 3 times in the last year. The first time, the inner tie rods had to be replaced. The second time, I slid off the road and it needed it done again. The third, who knows what happened but the steering wheel was pointing left even though I was driving straight. NOW...the steering wheel is pointing right even though I am going straight. When I hit bumps in the road, my car goes all over the place! It'* actually kinda scary. What can it be??? I guess this is something ELSE I'll get fixed when it gets inspected.

Something like Tie rods (again), ball joints, or something else by the wheel has play in it. Intil whatever is loose gets fixed, no alignment will stay. If you grab the front tires and try to shake them by hand, do they move? Can you feel a little play in it?

Steering rack isn't "too" bad. I'm having mine replaced on Thursday. I believe the quote was something around $280 CAD for the part, and then 2 hours labour at $73/hour.
So just over $400 CAD.

I would have the shop look at the strut tower bearings, if their not tight an alignment will never last. This is usually over looked during an alignment and things like tie rod ends are typicaly inspected where strut bearings are not?
