On the engine failure, thats why me and vital49 changed our intakes and gaskets as preventative maint.
Heard of too many engine failures. If you use coolant on these series II motors its best not to drive it until its solved and get that oil out of there right away.
Just my 2 cents worth........

well it is back with a new ATK rebuilt motor. has a 50,000 or 3 year warranty on it. interesting that the ilde speed of the new motor is about 750-800 rpm @ temp. used to be near 1000rpm. the final information on what happened was that it threw the rod bearing and then the whole thing went to hell. I asked the mechanic if he thought the coolant leak had anything to do with it and he thought no because the leak had been out of the motor instead of in. he is the same mechanic that replaced the manifold when it started leaking.
