Default More headaches again.

Now my tranny & airbag light are acting up. Last week got my tranny flushed and a couple of days later the first gear is acting up. When I am at a complete stop and start to go the car shudders really bad. Only does it if I am easy on the gas. I only have 78k on the car. The fluid is filled full, also they put the right fluid in. Today on the way home from work the airbag light started coming on and off. I can only imagine what is wrong with it. Tomorrow I am going to hook it up to a reader and see if any codes pop up. It figures things would start to go wrong considering the extended warranty expired 400 miles before this. But its still on it course of every 10k miles something goes terribbly wrong.

The codes will us to find whats up, if you have a cracked or shrunken o-ring in the control assembly you can get a bit of shudder but that is usually limited to only one gear setting. Does the problem seem to be only in first gear or secound?

For your airbag light it can be something as simple as your seatbelt latch, yes that'* right your seatbelt latch.

On one of my parents Montana'* they had the air bag light come on and off, they had it checked out and sure enough it was the seatbelt latch.

I had that airbag light flash on an Explorer before. It scared the crap out of me. Thought I was gonna get a bag in my face at any moment. Finally I just pulled over turned it on and off three times in a row then everything was fine.

This only happens in first gear take off. All the rest of the gears shift smoothly. It is pretty consistent usually around 5 shudders or so. Once I get it hooked up to the computer Ill post the new info. Hopefully its minor stuff. I really cant afford to pay anything great like a tranny rebuild, also I dont wanna get rid of the car yet.

It shouldnt be too bad if its isolated which its sounding like. It'll be either a sticky valve or cracked o-ring on the 1-2 shift assembley from the sound of the shake? The tranny flush must have dislodged some junk?

Ok. Thanks for the input. Tomorrow after work on the way home Ill stop by the shop and see what they have to say. Maybe Ill be able to rig something so I can get a discount or something. Still going to try to hook up the computer and see whats with the airbag.

Mike:
The seatbelt latch on our 98 montana went late last year. Cost to fix including labor was $391.86. We needed the seatbelt kit. This must be a common failure as my dealer only showed one kit in the metro area.
