Winter beater headaches
just got my winter beater for this year
a 93 chev 1/2 ton with a 4.3 six cyl
i think it will do the trick
anyone have the panel piece where the radio goes for one of these?

ok got the panel
now to get the catalytic replaced they stole it the rotten cake eaters
lets hope the weather is good sat

Man, did know Cat stealing was so popular. Someone trying stealing the one of the Bonne last time it was in the shop. They got 2 others ones that same weekend

yeah apparently ..worth $50-$75 cdn depending who you talk to
weather was good ... as for the try to reuse the exhaust ... not so good
and found another pblm too.... rear brake line
i hope i did not get in over my head on this one....

exhaust is done....yup engine is toast.....
no pblm guy tod me he will get me another engine
got the call today he has one and will drop it off.......
great ill swap it next weekend.....but wait...its a 1999 engine with low milage...

yeah its a vortec fuel injected too
i got the computer with it but no harness and my truck is a TBI non vortec
i REALLY think i am getting in too deep on this
anyone done a switch like this??

1999 vortec 4.3 fuel injected, complete with alternator starter AC and fan
trans from same vehicle
computer from same vehile
motor mounts too
wire arness is chopped up
my truck is a 1993 4.3 TBI NON vortec
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Top-end swap from old engine? Or is that even a possibility. I always thought that Vortec was simply a type of heads on an engine. But Im not sure.
This suggestion comes that aside from the heads, fuel injection setup, and other knick knacks, the bottom end of the two engines should be essentially the same.
But that all depends on whats wrong with the old engine really.

so as a longshot... i take the truck out and gave it a bit of a run on the quensway....
the smoking seams to have stopped
i put in some ultra 94 and a bottle of kleen flow emission ease (or something like that )
ran good and has lots of heat
it needs brakes though... its got a bad shudder.... this still beats 600 to 800 for an engine and three days putting it in in the cold oustside unprotected

got the E test today it passed flying colours!!!
now the bonne can go to sleep till spring
this thing turned out to be an expensive beater though
