Yeah, been a while since I was in a GP. We'll see tomorrow. I got the cash tonight, the DMV forms and I'm going tomorrow after five to get it and sneak it back to my new place since I don't have transit plates and he took it off the road. One Illinois front plate on the rear should work for the 10 miles back. I will try and post some pictures tomorrow if my server is still up due to me moving.

So far i know it has 2 main issues. First one is that it does not always start because it doesn't recognize the key. he said it take 2-3 tries for it to recognize. Second one is the AC isn't working and the heat only works on high. There are other minor things he said. How hard would those be to fix?

Well, I picked it up today with my father. Got a list of things that need to be checked on it. Front bumper is cracked pretty good, side has a nice scrape on it, but didn't really dent it. AC/Heat don't work. Passenger Airbag is broken, and the ignition take a couple minutes to recognize the key before allowing you to put it in gear. On a good note, it has a newer alternator, newer battery, and 2 month old tires and 3/4 tank of gas. Oh yeah, and only 68,xxx miles. I will have pictures as soon as my dad sends them to me. He took the car to my used car lot behind his house.

plan right now is for it to sit in my parents back yard. Once our mechanic has some free time (he'* backed up currently) my dad will take it there and see how much it'll be to fix it. If it is cheap enough, then 1 of 3 things will happen to it. 1) I'll sell it and make money. 2) My brother will take it and start driving it or 3) my dad will take it and drive it. For the last two, I am going to see if I can get my debt to my parents forgiven since they will be keeping the car. I am also going to spend a lot of time asking questions to see if I can't solve a couple of the issues myself before I take it to the mechanic.

getting the AC fixed can be VERY expensive, as most of the parts are labor intensive to get to. Same can be with the heat. The key recognizer will probably be expensive to replace too. I hope you did not pay too much for this car.

Well, I now have pictures. The pictures should be up til monday and then back whenever we get internet at my new place.

98 GP GT

And I know that those Items can be costly. As for labor, I get a really good rate from my mechanic since my dad helps him out some, and some of the issues might just be little things cause the guy that owned it before was not car savvy. He was told that the ignition thing would cost about $100 and the A/C about $600 from his mechanic. The airbag he was told that the passenger one was bad and that'* what was causing the issue, so it is Ebay and Club GP for me to see if I can get a good used one. And as for a deal, I think I got a fairly good deal on it.

check junkyards for the airbag too. It is something you can do yourself, I took the airbag off the wheel on my car.

Nice ride jimmy! That one is IDENTICAL to the GP GT my wife drives right down to the colour! We have 75,000 miles on ours and still runs great. only thing I think she'* due for a wheel bearing....sounds like shes hovering a bit. We put magnaflows on her and a KLN filter so she strolls down the street with a nice little roar behind her!
