Default Manual for 2000 Bonneville SSEi

Hi everyone,

It'* my first post here. 2000 Bonneville SSEi owner from Vancouver, BC. Was wondering if you guys might be able to help me out or point me in the right direction. Would any of you have a .pdf of a Factory Service Manual for this car?

The service engine soon light came on a few days ago and I also noticed that the tachometer was at 0 RPM while driving to work. I turned off the car at an intersection and it started up right away and the tach read 1,000 RPM as normal. Once I'm able to pull the OBD-II code out of the computer I should have a clearer picture of what the problem might be but thought I would get a head start and see if any of you guys might have a .pdf of a Factory Service Manual or even a Haynes Manual. Thank you for the help guys and look forward to hearing back from you.

Cheers

Ive seen several for sale on Ebay. You can also look in the for sale area here.

Something you may want to check is the grounds. Make sure they are clean. I believe you have ground blocks under the front doors in the floor. You need to lift the carpet. Clean these up real good.

Thank you for the advice Dan. I'll have a look at the grounds and see if there is any moisture there. I assume the ground blocks are located under the carpet close to the emergency brake? Is there also another ground block located in the front passenger compartment as well?

Come to think of it. Two weeks ago while driving home at night the right front tire did go through a puddle on the freeway and I had quite a bit of water splash onto my windscreen. Much like when you take the car through a car wash at the gas station. However once I arrived home I took a look under the hood and nothing was wet in the engine compartment and I started the car back up again just to be sure. The car did stutter for a second but it was able to start and has had no problems starting since then. Perhaps some water might have gotten in afterall...

It would be in the rocker panel just in front of the seats. And yes, both sides of the car.

i took a look at both ground blocks on the driver and passenger side and they are clean and dry and look brand new. i explored further underneath the carpet area to see if it might be wet but everything thing is dry so no need to worry about water getting inside. i started the car up no problemo and everything is running nice and smooth. tach gauge showed 1,000 RPM while in idle. Temp gauge, oil gauge and boost gauge, fuel gauge all working fine too. Guess I'll have to see what to see what code the computer has stored in the memory before I can totally be satisfied.

I did notice tho that while turning the key the 'Service Engine Soon' light appears but it doesn't stay steady once the car is started. Does this mean anything?

Cheers guys
