Haven't heard much about the 3900 V6. Is it just a stroked 3800 w/ 240hp?

it would be pretty hard to beat the 3800 in terms of cost.

The 3.5 is still used in the CTS I think...

I think some are thinking of the 3.6L that Cadillac uses. The 3.5L was only used in the Intrigue and Aurora. It was only used from 99 until 2002. It only had a three year run and it was designed by Oldsmobile. :( When the Intrigue was discontinued in 2002, the Aurora also dropped the 3.5L as an optional engine. all 2003 Auroras were the 4.0.

Interesting that they would drop it after the three years. Usually the costs for them to do that would be more expensive than to adapt it into another body.

I stand corrected, the CTS uses a 3.6 VVT with 255HP. Starts at 30k, sounds better than a GXP!

awesome work Rjolly! I'm not good with stuff like that, so I'm glad you took it upon yourself to do it. WIth that graph it makes me wonder even more why pontiac/buick didn't use the 3.5. It'* just a lot more powerful in the higher RPM'*. It doesn't have the lower end torque at very low RPM'* as the 3800, but it does have the higher gear ratio to make up for it, and it'* rated at the same fuel economy as the NA 3800. If only I could ask GM myself. lol. THat gear ratio must really make a difference though because the acceleration from a dead stop is very similar between my Aurora and my brother'* 00 SLE. Once you get above 3,500 RPM the 3.5 starts pulling away hard from the Bonneville though.
