I'm wondering if anyone has disected a 2K+ heated mirror. I'm trying to determine the borders of the heating element. I was hoping that someone may have had one with broken glass and could help me out with this.

i do know there is a 01 Rora at the yard with Heated Mirrors, i can get it and take a look if you like

I’ve had it apart before. It’* not that hard to get the glass off.
Unfortunately my old glass is on the side of the road somewhere.
I vaguely remember the element pattern but I’m not sure how much you want to trust my memory.

Are you doing some kind of mod or are you just replacing it with a used one?

LMK if you need advice for removing it.

I'm working on a mod, details to be released soon (if all goes well)... I've got a mirror that I took apart from an SE, but it doesn't have heat. This provided some preliminary data but I still need more. I took the one off my car which is heated but I didn't want to risk breaking the glass or damaging the heating element by trying to separate the glass from the plastic carrier. There are some openings on the plastic carrier the glass is affixed to and I was able to get a rough idea where the border lies on the side closest to the car. What I can't tell, is how far away from the car the element extends or the exact shape. These are what I'm most curious about.

If you're heading that way Pat, I'd certainly appreciate you having a look. I wouldn't ask you to make a special trip though. I may have another source to figure this out but I won't know for sure until later in the week.

The picture in my head has it with a rectangular pattern with “filaments” running vertical. Pattern extends to within ˝” from edge of glass. There were two spade terminals attached to the back of the glass about 2” from the edge closest to the door.
When you get yours off LMK how bad my photographic memory is .
