which looks better though? the window tinting stuff? or the gel? i mean like say i put blue tint and blue gel which one will shine more blue?

oh and what is the official name for this gell stuff? i have the internet and nothin mut time so im sure i can find some. i mean if i search for gel im gonna be arded with hair care products.so if u could enlighten me as to the title of this stuff it would be greatly appreciated.

i went to their website but they dont have that stuff for sale.i e-mailed them about it and told em what i wanted to do.i also e-mailed a couple other places.but whether or not they choose to respond is yet to be seen.i found a place that would send ppl free samples of 3"x4" window tinting.i guess i could fill out their little survey with every relative i know and get enough to do my whole car

where are you lokated hoov? A place around me is called "Vincent Lighting" and they sell every color and shade of gel that you could want. I use gel because i am in a theatre lighting group. but it is actually called "gel" and you wont prolly be able to search for it on the net. If you are having troubles lemme know (post a msg or email mailto: <a href="mailto:bmsgaffer86@...6@fuse.net</a> ) and ill buy you a sheet and ship it to ya. Its only about $7 per sheet and it very high grade stuff. (Dunno shipping tho)

I'm so glad you asked because I want the same thing. I will be putting in the blue headlights and foglights soon, but I see a lot of different kinds...my head is spinning. The xenon ones are most commonly sold online, but I have also seen just blue tinted bulbs for the headlights, and a Sylvania bulb called "cool blue" in auto parts stores. I'm not sure what the differences are (some headlights I've seen around town that are obviously meant to be blue are bluer than others). They all seem to be the same general price, so I just want to figure out which one looks best (does anyone know?). And as for the foglights, I want to make sure that whatever ones I get match the headlights, but I'm not sure how to get ones that I know will match (no one company that I have found makes both blue foglights and headlights).

And I like the gel idea for the inside. I want blue inside too, but not too strong...just a hint of blue like the headlights (and I will also be getting slightly blue bulbs for the plate lights and trunk light). The gel option should allow me to get a pale color, right?

If you live in an area that gets foggy stay with the stock fog lights. The yellow color they emit penetrates fog better than colored light. The Silver Stars are DOT approved and don't have a blue tint to the glass. That blue tint actually will cut down on the amount of light that the bulb gives off, that'* why most of those "blue" headlights have such a high wattage.

I thought the reason they gave off a blue tint was because they were high output. :?: Yellow light is cooler than blue light, and so I thought these blue headlights were brighter (they certainly seem it when they come at you while driving! ). Also, don't HID headlights appear blue? You always see them on the really expensive luxury cars because they are supposed to be very bright (but very expensive). As for the fog lights, you're probably right because they are just a bulb with a blue coating (cutting down the light leaving them); luckily I don't have to worry about it because it is very rarely foggy in NH, and the fog lights seem to do little to help anyway.

HID...or High Intensity Discharge is a xenon gas filled lamp, gives off a naturally super white blueish tinge.

Some companies have attempted to give a cool blue look by adding filters to the bulb. The Cool Blues that I have, aren't actually blue at all, there is a small filter in the bulb that takes out the yellowish tinge, giving off a more brilliant clear light..

HIDs can produce three hues; white, blue, and violet. 0-3000 kelvin is usually white, 4000-7000 is blue and 8000+ is violet. HID produces light that is close to natural sunlight.
Xenon charged bulbs(they use xenon gas instead of halogen) burn brighter and hotter so it produces a white light, that blue tint will help make it whiter and more blue. To counter the tint a higher wattage is needed. Silver Stars don't have a tint so they don't appear blue but are significantly more white than halogen bulbs and the watts are close to stock. My friend actually had a headlight housing start to melt because his bulbs burned so hot, stupid Honda and their plastic covers.
