Default KILLED MY OLD TBird SC

The guy that I sold my SuperCoupe to finally got it running again. He took to the local 1/8 mile track and made a couple runs. He notice that his boost wasn't coming up properly (only 7 psi) and the best run he had was a 10.37 . He found out that his supercharger top was left loose by his mechanic. Well he fixed that and got his boost back up (13-15 psi). Monday he said he wanted to take on the Trans Am, so after work we went the old stretch of road that use to be the best in the area. The first run we lined up even and I gave him the hit, needless to say I waxed his ***. I think it was 6-7 car lenghts but the guy standing at the finish line said it was more like 10-12. The second run I gave him three and the hit that'* when I noticed one his major problems, he didn't know how to launch a stick shift ( he spun his wheels 2-3 car lenghts). Well I beat him again, about the same distance as before.
Tonight I took my wifes SSEI to the track and ran a 10.03 beating him again in process. He destroyed his second gear syncronizer or the blocking ring and ran a 11.00 . So he'* going to need to get his transmission rebuilt. If I'd been driving the SC i'd have won. I also beat a semi-riced up Probe and an old Buick or Oldsmobile.

by not dropping the cluth and punching it. it'* called feathering. i got pretty good at it, it'* a "learn the basic technique, get practice" thing.

Or the 3.8 with the M62? With that boost, it sounds turbo, though.....sortof. I'm close to that on boost now.

I'm pretty sure the SuperCoupe ran the Ford 3.8 with an M62 as standard fair. I have never heard of the 4.7 V6. What did it come in?

If you work the clutch right, it makes a BIG difference. In my wife'* Saturn, I can either smoke 'em or get one hell of a start off the line (then get my @$$ handed to me ). I believe that'* double-clutching? Am I right? What exactly is double-clutching??

The SuperCoupes only came with the supercharged 3.8 and everything that I can find indicate that the 94-95 had the m90 eaton. The 84-88 Turbo Coupes had a 2.3 four cylinder. When I owned the car the boost stayed around 13-15 at WOT. When my buddy bought it he blew the head gasket. So he'* had some head work done , opened up the exhaust and installed a ram air kit. He says the boost goes off scale now at WOT.

Double clutching is when you disengage the clutch then shift to neutral, re-engage it and then disengage it again before shifting to the next gear.
