Recently had my transmission act very strangely. I was going out of town through some hills and it basically started shifting super hard and I thought bye bye tranny. I let it cool and it was fine after that. I de-modded and took it to the dealer, they can't find anything wrong. I put the stock PCM back in for the dealer. My question is if the PCM could cause something like this to happen? Since it removes some TM and adjust pressures, could it have overworked the tranny and made this happen? I took this same run with the stock PCM and had no issues.
Even though it never threw a check engine light, could there be a code in the pcm that can be retrieved to find out what happened?

i think that if it did ping a code, the dealer would have picked up on it, however, there is the possibility that they didnt... i would try reenacting the event with the Intesne PCM again, i think it was probably just a hiccup that may or may not ever happen again.

Remember, it IS a computer... You dont question that everything is going to **** when your PC freezes and you have to reboot, you take it as part of the computers life, reboot, and move on... the same is true for all electronic devices at times

If you can duplicate the event with the Intense PCM and not the OEM, then i would be on the phone with Intense

I took the Intense PCM out when it went to the dealer. As far as duplicating the event, I'd rather not do that to my transmission again. All I know is when I drove the same stretch with the stock PCM it didn't do it.
I'm not trying to bash Intense at all. I t was just something I was wondering if this scenario could happen....that'* all.
Until I know for sure it wasn't the PCM I'll just leave the stock PCM in.

Well, it depends on how "hard" the shift was. Now did you have your shift points adjusted as part of the option? I know in GPs the Performance shift, is harder/shorter, which isnt bad on the tranny. If your going up and down hills, the PCM has what are called "skip shifts". Underload or at WOT say going above 50 and you hit a steep hill, the car will go down to 1st, or if in 4th, the car will goto 2nd. those will be harder than your normal tranny shifts since it'll only downshift 1 gear if its moderate strain. FYI...shift kits put in cars cause harder shifts on the tranny, but cause less wear and tear on it rather than a "unkitted" tranny. Like I said above...define this "hard" shift.

Easiest way to recreate it is to put the Intense PCM back in. Im almost certain its the skip-shifts since you were going on rolling hills and if you throttle it or go WOT, they will skip and shift harder.

They were not "skip shifts". I thought the whole tranny was gonna fall right out of the car. Even once I pulled over, I tried to go from 1 to 2 and it still did it at very light throttle. The whole car bucked and jerked when it shifted and I was only going like 10mph.

And yes the car is still under warranty but the dealer can't duplicate the problem. That'* why I was asking if there could be a code in the Intense PCM that might give them a clue as what might have happened. It'* a good thing I didn't leave the Intense PCM inthe car because they said the first thing they did was re-flash the pcm....

Have you tried calling INTENSE to ask them?

Wow! That would have sucked, to have paid for the INTENSE program only to have it re-flashed back to stock.

I was hoping Roque or Scott might chime in here. If not I will contact them and ask.
