I guess by "popular" demand, or just plain common sense we should have a info section on these boards. Soo.. I guess I shall start this post and we can compile a list together. So list your year of Bonny and what engine comes w/ it and specs/features like air suspension and other little things that might help people figure out what to do. I'll start first I guess...

I got a 1999 Bonneville SE so I got the Gen II 3800 Series w/ 4T65E transmission engine that supposedly makes..:

205 HP @ 5200RPM
230 Ft/Lbs @ 4400 (I think somehwere in the 4'*)

Same thing goes for mods. If you have any writeups of how to perform mods (anything from building a CAI to dropping in a new engine) or instructions for common repairs (like installing new brake pads), add them to the thread. The more, the better!

As for specs, the 1992-1994 SE/SSE put out 170 HP @ 4800 rpm & 225 lb-ft @ 3200 rpm.

Obscure Bonneville-related facts are good too!

Quick question SKZA, what Infinity speakers did you use in the door? did you use 4x6 w/ some tweeters?

And boseman350, what is the GM Groundeffects, there is a body kit for out car? Or did you graft one to your car?

But yeah, I will be willing to write up a CAI page, I just need hosting space... Hmm.. Teubok, would it be possible if I have some space for a webpage of my own, it would be small and effecient, little bandwidth would be taken since not too many people care about Bonneville'* unless I made it pretty w/ Flash and such... But it would help me out if you could just give me like 10MB to work with then I could start writing articles. Just let me know through email or here.

Ok, well I dont need that groundeffects since I will be lowering my car. But as for the 5.25 component, did you car come w/ 4x6 stock and you just "stuffed" in the components. I know there is a ton of space I just need to measure to make sure the magnet doesnt get interfered w/ by the metal door.

My car with with 4x6s stock and I saw no easy way to convert to a 5 1/4 component set. Maybe I'm just cheap and lazy, but I got a set of Pioneer TS-P462s (4" plate speakers) and I'm really happy with them. No bass but that'* what I've got the Perfect 12 in the trunk for.

Actually my door panels are the same size as the SLE or SSE or even SSEi. The only difference is that above SE you guys get the 5.25 component but same size door, and I have 4x6 (Boo!). I have the hole for the tweeter also but it has a delete, but I plan on buying the screens. I might add extra tweeters in the air vents for more power. But I should be able to fit a 5.25 component easily in my front doors.

Yes, my car also came with stock front components. 99BonnevilleSE you might be able to get some door panels of a similar bonne and have factory space for components.

I love my kappas and plan on sticking with them. One thing I am going to do is get 2 sets of Kappa Perfect 6.5" components, mount them in the front and rear. I love my 6x9'* for bass, but the rear mounted, forward facing stock tweeters sounded awesome.

Currently, I am in the process of getting the garage rash removed from my bumpers. White scuff marks just don't look nice on red cars.

The body shop I use is also known across the state of Michigan for their fiberglass abilities. I'm thinking of some custom ground effects. I really want to replace the side moulding with something that has less moulding. If you look at the photoshop rendering of what I want my car to look like in my sig, you'll see what I mean. I also want some fender flares to accompany my wider rims when I get them. We'll see, its all up in the air right now.
I am trying to do the same I even ripped off the paneling on one side. It was hard getting it back on but I found if you remove the side paneling and made new front and rear fascias you could get a nice look. I just don’t have the cash to have it done yet. Also there are metal pins sticking out of the doors holding on the paneling that would have to be taken off. I am thinking of getting a SLE instead of my SE. I have leather but I don’t have all power seats just the driver side. I have a moon roof but the first owner added it aftermarket. Nice ride skza.

sounds like an engine swap to me, no boost gauge is dangerous. Was the engine the L67 like the GP'* have or the older SC v6 like the bonnevilles have? If it was a L67, they had better have the 4t65e transmission in there, otherwise, the normal bonneville tranny 4t60e would blow up very quickly.

skza
It'* a 4T60E HD unit, and yes, SE'* could be had with supercharged engines, stock.

Skza,

I know it doesn't make any sense, but GM did offer the supercharged powertrain in certain model year SEs. Sometimes the package was known as the SLE, IIRC. Here'* one.

And the 4T60E-HD is just a beefed-up version of the 4T60E (for the supercharged 3800), like the 4T65E-HD is a beefed-up version of the normal 4T65E.

I’m interested in the same idea I was looking into plastic welding as a solution for modifying the plastic molding. The front fenders are an easily modified/replaced unit, but I am not sure how to get a seamless effect in the rear fender. Any ideas?
