I've never heard one rave about that motor, until now, being you, will
I tend to judge a motor'* reliability from the general consensus of many owners, not just one. My 3800'* had it'* share of problems, doesn't mean it'* the 3800 is an unreliable piece of crap
Example: upper intake failures on our motors, not everybody has 'em, but they're common enough to be an issue, and from what I've heard, Quad 4 head problems are pretty rampant.

I love my GA GT, it'* a great car. After driving my SSEi, it sometimes feels like a go-cart. And, the strange thing is, it is not really that much smaller. In my opinion, it is just a smaller Bonne with similar looks and similar, although slightly less, features. Pontiac has certainly created two impressive cars in the both. However, mid 15'* in the quarter mile for a GA GT is, by no means, considered slow. It may run the 15 flat my SSEi is capable of, but then it has 65 less horsepower and 75 less lb-ft of torque. But, I dunno why people with N/A 3800'* are beating GA GT'*. To me, this is a great mystery?!?
Edit: FYI, the quarter mile time for my GA GT in my signature is quite outdated. It was achieved a few weeks after picking the car up with the engine just broken in. Since then, the intake resonator has been removed, and the stock airbox is no more. Unfortunately, I have not had the opportunity to take my GA GT to a track after the new modifications. However, other GA GT'* with similar modifications have netted an average of mid 15'* in the quarter mile.
