Two weeks after I bought the '03 my confidence dropped dramatically - some know why. It went up a little bit for a while.
Once I got my Aeroforce my confidence dropped again.
7000 miles later – a couple nights ago – it really worried me.
But I still drive it on long trips (hell, my commute to work is a long trip I have no choice but to drive it) and the mileage and oil pressure have been great! I think I just need more time with it.
Maybe you should take the GS on your trip...if you don't it'll take longer for you to trust it. It could turn out to make the trip very well, but you'd never know it unless you take it. I would hope that everything would go well if you do.

I was still confident in it when I bought it...
I drove my 95 SSEi 800 miles the first day I bought it.

I've drove the wheels off a 98' Regal GS same color combo as yours, this one has 224,000 on the original engine / transmission / intake gaskets, drove it 14 hours from Atlanta to Pittsburgh, and everywhere since then. I really like those second gen w car regals.

I still don't trust this:
http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...ic.php?t=74124
Mainly because it'* so old. It takes a while to trust vehicles. Especially since previous vehicles I've owned were pretty beat up by the time I replaced them.
So, I only thinks it'* natural to be nervous. It'll pass in time!

Thanks for the vote of confidence, guys!
I'm sure in due time I'll trust it more, but it'* just nerve racking. One thing is for sure - I don't like the ECC. I'm a very simplistic person and having the ECC over complicates things.
The L67 is very nice and has lots of power. But, again, honesty prevails. I really miss the L36 (even with 175K).
In all likelihood, we'll end up driving the GS to Florida. Four people in a Civic on a 1500 mile trip is just downright punishment.
Thanksgiving weekend I'm going to start replacing all of the items listed in my initial post. That should help me feel better.

You'll definitely get used to the ECC. I think it'* probably the best feature on my PA. I hardly ever even think about it, other than to occasionally change the temp.
If not, it'* easy enough to override the fan and position controls.

Ya...I know, I'm refreshing my old thread.
But, my sentiments aren't changing much on this thing. I'm so angry with myself for what I feel was a bad decision. Our 99 SE should have never been sold. We both really miss that car. And, I really miss the L36. Outside of the power, I don't have any interest in the L67. I'd much rather have the L36 with less power, but an engine I know inside and out.
The recent alternator issues aren't making me happy (see 2000-2005 thread). The fact that it clunks when I put it in gear is un-nerving (probably worn mounts, but still). And, there has been a recent rash of spontaneous combustions with the GSs and GTPs.
Live and learn, I suppose....
