Default I hate mechanics....

At least the ones around here...

So I'm happy with my car and all, its fast, I enjoy it but I couldn't figure out why it was running so lean for the life of me. I spent endless hours testing every sensor, cleaning them off, readjusting the TPS, pulling the fuel injectors and even having them re-tested all to no avail. I know I'm only getting 40psi at idle but I get detonation on WOT and that shouldn't happen...at least not to the extent it was doing it.

So I'm at work today reading up on ignition systems and I get the urge to check my spark plugs. I never thought of it before this because they were like 1 week old before I pulled the engine and they looked clean when they went in.

So I grab the wire on the first one and start to pull...*wiggle wiggle* "Whaat thee heeelll?!" So I pull the wire and do 1/10th of a left turn and it falls right out. Holy crap! Ok I'm pissed so I check the next one...SAME THING! Holy jesus...The next one is ok so I get to the back and grab the wire, slides right off. Ok wtf, how can someone be so incompetient as to not correctly install 3 of the 6 plugs and wires. I mean its not that friggin hard!

I pulled all the plugs and most were cooked from running so damn lean. But it made sense. The 3 cylinders were dead and just pumping gas out the back, the o2 was picking that up as a rich condition and leaning out the 3 that were firing. It made sense of something I was confused about earlier. According to the scantool the computer was content that it was correct but the gas analyzer hooked to the exhaust read lean. haha ahh ****..

So by the time I got all this figured out the mechanic place was closed so I'll save the bitch fest for tomorrow. ooooh he'* gonna catch it...ooooooh he'* gonna catch it...

But the good part is the car is twice as fast as I thought it was! hahah. I mean don't get me wrong, it felt faster than it was by far. I really have no idea how I was getting the acceleration I was off 3 maybe 4 cylinders and it performed like an animal....on half an engine. I thought it was just a fuel delivery problem...which it still is (40psi) but its not as noticeable. I still have parts to put on it but for now...in 3 words...It Hauls ***! haha I'm loving it, I can't wait to get the Walbro and feed it like it wants.

Anyway, just thought I'd share why I hate mechanics so much

So when are we gonna see our first Series I L67 B-ville time-slip showing a sub 13.99 quarter? I am extremely anxious. Please don't hold out on us.

Installing a series I pulley is EASY. Just need an impact and a std gear puller. It takes 5 minutes. It has a keyed pulley not press fit.

No misfire codes, because it has to fire, to misfire.
