As far as the boot i personally would just take your time in to thinking about change the boot depending on how long its been torn and what kind of climate you live in it might be smart to replace the whole half shaft loaded with new c-v joints and boots i had a car that had torn boots and i just changed the boots and six months later that c-v joints went :?:
