Default HUGE dilemma

Well here is my dilemma. I had an offer made to me today. My parents told me if I sell both my cars, 1990 olds cutlass Supreme SL, and a 1990 Bonneville SSE, ( could only get a couple thousand for each) they will pay the rest and get me anothe car ( that still has a warranty). Unfortunatly it would most likely be a KIA. Wouldn't mind if it was at least a pontiac btu a KIA
Well the whole reason behind it is we ( my fiance and myself) need a good reliable car that will last at least 5 years. Reason for that is I need to pay off my school loan from going back to school ($25,000) and will take 5 years. So instead of constantly dropping more $$$$ into the cutlass to keep it on the road and dropping $$$ into the Bonne to put it on the road, we could put the money to pay off the debt and try and get another down payment for a house, ( had a house but sold it to move to Ottawa).
So should I go for the deal or not??????
P.*. I just put my finger through the fender on the cutlass this afternoon ( had a bit too much rust I guess, hehe)

You are going to have many cars in your life and just because you buy a Kia does not mean you can’t have a cool Pontiac down the road. You really can’t do anything with your cars until you have money anyway. Do what you have to do and paying off your loan is important. 5 years from now you will be able to buy a GTO or a RWD Bonneville. Make wise choices with your money and your groundwork for a career and you can buy all the new Pontiacs or Bonneville’* you want. Good luck. Oh make sure you check out that www.marriagebuilders.com web site. You could get a “my other car is a GTO” sticker Or a my other car is a Bonneville Sticker.

I was hoping for at least a vibe or something but if they are paying the majority and I can get a car that will still have 3 years or so warranty, it'* all good.

Pick yourself up will! Will get a hold of yourself! Think that’* either parts or a new starry eyed Bonneville owner.

A KIA? Might as well put a can on the back and a sticker on the side and join the ricer wanna be family. I just have a thing against them, nothin personal.

Seriously though, It is up to you. I know I have the need for a fast sleek car but I also want to become debt free. I have no where near the 25g that you have but I haven't taken out school loans either. What you need to do is weigh in the facts. How wuch does it mean for you to have two cars, that you love to drive, and like the styling to then move to a car (KIA or not) that may not have all the features and all the power or all the luxury of what you have now. Not saying you will neccissarily downgrade from what you have now but how would you feel about it down the road.

My dad got rid of a car once because he never really drove it much anymore, he had a family now, a new house and so forth. About two years after selling it he really started to miss it. It was his first new car, a 1970 Torino GT. To this day he still kicks himself for selling it. Would you feel this way about either of your cars?

Like I said, I may be a little biased for Bonnevilles and against KIAs but just make sure that whatever you pick will be what you really want and need. Who knows, maye 5 years from now you will be out of debt and have just picked up your new 2008 V8 RWD Bonneville SSEi!

Well I've really only driven the cutlass cause the bonne isn't on the road yet. I wouldn't really miss the cutlass, it'* actually vehicle # 4 that I have had on the road, #3 is still on the road too ( 1969 GMC pickup),, now that I WILL NOT SELL.
I really have to sit down and think about the situation( or have the cutlass have something else blow up on it again) to make my decision. I will talk more with my parents and see what they want to spend and may look ant a PONTIAC but NOT those f#@*$ng sunfires, get into a fender bender with those and need a can opener to get out.

im probably gonna get castrated for saying this but im going to anyway...u want a car that will last at least 5 years....get a good Toyota. HEAR ME OUT...STOP YELLING AT ME seriously though, my neighbor has an 85 toyota pickup with 350k on it and my friends 88 camry jsut died at 280k (its still drivable and fixable but he signed his life to ford for 12k)

at least its better than a kia its up to u...that is what i would do if i had that situation

My dad already had a camry and well good luck trying to buy a good sized toyota ( not a tin can) for less than 20,000 that is pretty much fully loaded and has 5 years warranty on it.
That camry was a great car, but damn expensive on parts.
