Default How many Rpm'*?

What'* the higest rpms' you've had {flooring it...}....today i got crazy and i went up to about 4500 b4 second gear it....that'* with normal shift.....i know if i had performance on it would've went higher....anyone get to yellow or red lines? {even though going way up there is bad, right? }

I've gone to 6212rpms in my STE numerous times (thats the rev limiter) and we've spun the GTP up very close to its 6600rpm limiter numerous times and have actually hit the limiter before. The SSEi has also hit its 6200rpm limiter before.

So I would say the highest rpms with an L27/L36/L67 engine that I've had it 6600rpm.

Edit: I wouldn't recommend anywhere near those kind of RPMs on a stock 3.8.

got mine up to 6000 rpm once <tach said 6300, but we all know better>. about 2 weeks later we were tearing apart the engine to replace the cam sensor magnet that got shot off in the run.

L27 and Series I L67 are limited to 5500rpm max engine speed. An aftermarket chip can raise it a little.

5000 or a little under on my 89. Definatly not a regular basis.

I don't really like to put the RPMs that high. I don't want to have to replace anything.
