This is one of those humorous comparisons that makes me think

"why are we even talking about this?'

The 2500 is a pig compared to the 1500. Just look underneith. The 2500 is much beefier and heavier. The 1500 HEMI might give you a run for your money, but you'd kill a 2500 HEMI. Really. They're pretty slow (fast for a truck, but slow for a car).

And ELMACHOGERACHO, stick to the Nissans and leave the trucks to those who don't drive Maximas.
The RAM Diesel for 2007 reportedly has a bigger 6.7L (up from 5.9L) engine, mostly to meet emissions, though (there is a power increase, too). It will be reportedly mated to a new Asian 7 speed auto rated for about 1000 lb-ft. of torque. (WOW) No Allison for the Dodge. Only Chevy/GMC will (err, do) have the Allsion 6-speed trans.

The 2500 will not even be close, the 1500 on the other hand.....watch out. My grandpa has an 05" HEMI All Wheel Drie Ram 1500, puts it to the floor and all through first he had me like nothing else, didn't catch him until second gear, didn't pass him until almost 75....they are faster than a lot of cars out there.

It'* amazing how fast these new trucks are. I've got to watch out on the road now, because you never know what lurks under the hood.

Yes:
1. Bigger tires, 4wd.
2. There'* a bed.
3. it can handle offroad terrain better than a bonnie
4. bigger engine, there'* some mods out there but not alot

Overall, I'd go no. Yeah, sure there'* lots of good points to a pickup, but IMHO, a Bonneville is alot nicer exterior and interior wise, though very much different, it'* better imo.

Stick with what you got.
He'd keep the Bonneville if he got the truck, he wasn't thinking about REPLACING it with the truck. But his question was who was faster.
damnit, i only read half the thing..

imo ssei. lighter.

5.7L 330 hp V8

330 hp @ 5400 RPM
375 lb. ft. torque @ 4400 RPM

Curb Weight - Automatic- 6270 lb

DAYUM!!!!!

I think the nearly 2500 lb weight difference might work in your favor just a little bit

All depends on your launch.

Scott routinely beats me stop light to other side of the intersection in his Bonnie GXP because his car has traction at larger throttle.

Hemis are a joke...

Lemme put it this way..

Hypothetically..You could spin the tires and induce torque management to pull your timing and still take him down w/o thinking about it.

Hemi'* are a ridiculous marketing ploy for the uneducated. It doesn't mean what it used to mean.
