dont sell/trade your bonne. it will be hard to find a more reliable car/van. we have had our bonne since 1993, with no major problems. make her sell her car, and not yours. she is the one who wants a van, not u!

Well, it'* true that you'd probably lose money by getting rid of the Bonnie now and then buying another one when you get back. And that would suck. But to look at the bigger picture, your wife'* needs are FAR more important than your own while you're away. The overreaching goal of this escapade is to make her life as easy as possible while you can't be around for a year. Yes, I know, you're married and you probably already know these things. But if she can't have you around you should do all you can to ease the transition. Bottom line: a Bonneville is a cool car, but your wife is your love, your lover, and your kids' mom. Make sure you remember what'* really important!

YEP......get rid of the Malibu and get the van or a nice SUV.
Walking and carrying the kids would be a worse option.

I got rid of my/our Malibu when I got my Bonnie and it was the best thing I ever did!!!!!!

I would have to agree have her trade in her car, this is something she wants. She can only drive one car at a time. Who cares if your car sits there while u are gone it is not like she can be driving both the van and her malibu at the exact some time.

well thanks for all the input, now to explain a liitle more in detail. we have 4 kids and her sister is living with us so we have to take 2 cars where-ever we go, so we really do need a 7 passenger van. Me and her talked about it and i told her the only way i'm trading it is if when i get back i get the new GXP model or it'* equal at time of production, i was going to shoot for a GTO but unless they beef the body up a little more i like the agressive look of the GXP and it still isn't too hard to get the kids in and out. Also i went and looked at an 03 montana and drove it too the house so she could drive it. it had just as much options as the town & country and actually acted as if it handled the road better also, it wasn't as loose in the curves (had to put it too the test, now only if i could swap the supercharger i might not feel so lost). but too make a long story short i told her that i finally found what I was looking for and to trade it was like trading one of the kids for a live in super model maid. but anyways she agreed we would try and keep it and if we did have to trade it when i get back i'm promised a GXP or GTO of my choice. lol she really wants this minivan and she has always been true to her word in the past.[/b]
