Help With HPTuners
Well I am sure me and Tom will be posting ALOT in this thread, but to start with, what is the best way to log misfires? I am currently logging something I found called Total Misfires but it doesn't seem to actually log anything? Should I try to make a user defined PID that adds all the individual cylinder misfires?
Tuning is going good on the other hand
imma' start getting the MAF dialed in in the morning.

It'* cake. Pull down the pids for all the cylinders. If you can't get misfires then you have to turn P0300 back on and tell it to not report. Some shelf pcms have it to never report or show and you'll never get misfires.
It'* best if you use a fairly standard config for scanning. There'* certain parameters everyone uses and looks for. Then I have another config for misfires and other goodies. If you want.. I can toss them at you later tonight.

Just throwing this out in case anyone has had a similar experience. I was getting no misfires before the process began, after 2 rounds of VE tuning and getting those tables quite a bit closer to where they need to be, it'* misfiring under high load again (atleast that is what it felt like and Trent noticed a timing dip but no KR). I'm hoping this will go away as I finish up the VE tuning and move onto getting the MAF calibrated, but looking for some consolation it'* not my coils again..

No one reminded me for the files..and I'm brain dead. Sorry guys.
You guys didn't maf tune then VE tune did you? it'* the other way around. And you shouldn't be seeing misfires at all. That indicates a problem wtih something like plug wires etc etc. Or the tune is totally off and it'* lean etc.
What does the scan show is out of whack? Which cylinders etc.

Doing a VE tune will not add nor fix misfire. Misfire is a physical problem, plugs, wires, or coils. Find out which cylinder and deal with it. What plugs do you have? And what are you gapped at? With a stage2 IC and the pulley your running. You should be 1 or 2 ranges colder and gapped at .055-.050 You still running stock coils? Does it stutter at WOT, but runs good at cruise? If so, the coils are likely the problem. Deal with this, and then move back to tuning.
