Compare a Bonnie PCM to a GTP, and the GTP is a million times better.

wouldnt you think that the Buick would have the more conservative programing and gearing? Honestly, look who drives most Buicks...They arnt exactly spring chickens (no offense the young buick drivers out there).

Moms 88 Park Ave seems to have better acceleration than my 90 SSE also.
They are both C motors and hers doesn't burn a lick of oil while mine uses 1/2 quart
between changes.
I know Buick produces their own 3800 engine for their models.
Could be a difference in MFg. quality.

Rogue, you seem surpised with the times...fast or slow??? I am assuming they are slow considering my buddy and I in the cars are 200+ lbs a piece and I have another couple hundred pounds of crap in the car, please confirm though!!!

i didnt realise the NA'* were that slow. On a side note I saw a late model Mustang V6 today at the cogcp meeting. Had a nice big 17.5 dial-in on the back window

i didnt think the NA'* were that slow either. i looked at car-stats.com and the 0-60 time for my car was like 7.7 sec. and that would make more sense than 10. but i dont know where they get their info from. anyone have a more reliable source?

Just to let you guys know, these were VERY crude figures....friend says 'on you mark, get set, GO!' type of figures. I just wanted to get a general confirmation that the Buick was actually faster. Included in these figures are the reaction times of me to hit the gas and him to hit the stop button, so in an empty car, with one light driver, and an accurate time measurement, I wouldn't doubt 7.7 seconds at all!

A Vin C engine is available in the older style bonevilles made between 87 and 91. These cars are much slower. 10 seconds is an accurate time i would say. ( seeing as I own a 90 )
