Default Difference between GTP and SSEI motors

Okay so I am curious, what is different in the GTP'* motor that gets it the 20 extra hp over the SSEi'*? Is it just the way the computer is programed or is it something else?

you must be talking about the 04+ grand prix. they have the Gen 5 blower which is more efficient than the Gen 3. there is more i think but not for sure

S3 L32 (SC motor) had different rods, slightly larger valves. Maybe different pistons and the Gen V blower. LIM hole for blower is about 3/4" larger than a S2 L67 LIM hole.

That might explain it then...why didn't I think about that myself. So which motor is better to build off of, the Series 2 or 3? Or are they about equal to the amount of hp gained in the end with the same mods?

Depends on price, availability etc etc.

I used an L67, added the Gen V, Stage 3 heads etc etc. At about 450HP never had an issue with the motor. Either bottom end is plenty durable.

Pistons are the same but connecting rods are stronger
