If anything, pick this car up as a project car none the less and continue driving what your driving now until you get all the mechanical work done. $500 isnt bad but what kind of engine work needs to be done?? Lower end??? Not bad for a project car.

^^^lol Didnt know that

Depending on how far you need to tear into it, how soon can you have the engine/tranny work completed?

Says it needs motor/trany work, yet, im sure its still worth a good look, alot of people who own these cars and dont know anything about them jump to conclusions in a hury about little problems. who knows?

Although...being a 4T60... it'* probably run hot in Florida and at the least needs a flush.

That'* what I was thinking/hoping for you. A lot of people consider a car a write-off just because they don't know any better. You do.. If not, you know where to ask, right??

If it needs an engine, that'* one thing. Worse case scenerio: do what I did and use an L27 core (which if memory serves Marik still has one in good shape), and no modding whatsoever. If it needs a transmission (which as Boosty pointed out the Florida heat DOES take its toll on these transmissions), rebuilding that actually isn't too bad of a job.

Had I not gone and bought the SSE, I would be alll over this...now that I have the place to work on it
