Default headlight tint... cool or dumb? ~pics attached~

hey guys. i was polishing out my headlights today, and right as i was putting everything up and about to take the driver headlight back out i saw the roll of cling on tint i used for my taillights. so i decided what the hell, and slapped it on there. if i go through with it ill need to get actual tint. too many curves for just cling on.

im really on the fence with this. i had one friend say it looks dumb now but if i took some black rustoleum to the wheels itd look cool, that has me thinking too.

i figured id post here and see what everyone thinks. im leaning towards no lol.

oh i also swapped my good headlight into the drivers side to take these pics. (6000k hid)

I think it'* too dark, and probably cuts the light output down too much. It would probably be a lot better if you cut out around the headlights..

yeah. there was one guy on hereor maybe the buick forum with a park ave and he painted the inside of the housing black. im thinking of just waiting till i can afford projectors, then painting the entire inside of the housings apart from the brights black.

That would probably look better. I've always wanted to do a dual projector retrofit on my car, and paint it all black. There was a guy on a Grand Am forum who done that (projector and painted everything black) recently, and it looks really good.

I think it is too dark...Maybe take the headlight apart and use Dupli-color'* black chrome kit on the chrome pieces inside? It would give them somewhat of a smoked look. I used VHT on the corner lenses of mine, still a little dark, but doesn't affect light output.

They look fine to me. Light output for your eyes might be too much though. I know it'd be fine for me.

I don't like it, at all. Too dark for that car.

Painting those wheels black would make them look like steelies.

i made a thread like this for my car when i did my tails but decided against it because my lights are glass and get really hot, i think it would look good if you had more black accents like i have.

I have to also voice my light output concerns, and agree with those who have mentioned black housings. If you are going to black out, don't leave amber/red running lights untinted, because I think that looks dumb.
