Hardened 4th gear input shaft? Which years/trannys?
I've been reading a bit on this, but haven't gotten the straight scoop...
Supposedly GM started installing a hardened 4th gear input shaft on the 4T65E in later years...anyone know exactly when this started, and whether it was for both 4T65E and 4T65E-HD?
Is there any way to know (RPO code, tranny tag code, build date, etc) whether your transmission has the improved part?
