Default hesitation from 3rd to 4th gear ??

I was wondering if this is normal on Bonnies.. or what could cause this on my 97 SSEI. When I cruise up to 70- 80 Kmh.. and when it upshifts from 3rd to 4th.. as soon as it goes into 4th gear.. it has jerking hesitation feeling for the first second or two. I was wondering if that could be engine hesitation that everyones been talking about, or could it be something with the tranny.. it has the 4T65 HD tranny.. or suppose to.. haven't physically checked it.

First off check the fluid level...Depending on the mileage on the trans you might be experiencing slipage in the clutch pack (worn from age). The OD is usually the first component to give out (since it usually used on the hwy alot).

My fluid level is right, and I sometimes experience the same thing, slippage going into 4th under light load (around 45-50mph), when the trans is cold and hasn't warmed up yet.

HEY WHATS UP GUYS? I AM EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY 93' BONNIE SE,WHEN I FIRST START IT UP AND WHEN THE TRANNY IS COLD,THERE IS A NOTICABLE JERKING BETWEEN SHIFTS! ITS REALLY ANNOYING SINCE THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IVE HAD THIS TRANSMISION REBUILT! I STILL HAVE A WARRANTY ON THE REPAIRS,SO ILL HAVE TO TAKE IT IN BEFORE IT IS NULLIFIED.I ONCED TALKED TO A MECHANIC ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND HE SAID IT WAS A COMMON OCCURENCE W/ THESE TRANSMISIONS..HE COMPLIMENTED THE 3800 ENGINES,BUT THAT THE TRANNYS KINDA SUCKED...I BELIEVE HE WAS REFERING TO THE 4T60e TRANNYS...ANY FEED BACK? 8)

I have eaten my share of 4t60-e'* and yes they suck for the person who wants to abuse their car. This is actually what started me looking for solutions for the h body. LOL I have the solution for your tranny problems and yes with up to 300hp you can roast the tires without any problems. It also has a Limited slip option. I can also get the same gearing as intense but with the 3.70:1 ratio issue you will have to get a manual shifter or computer chip to give you the new shift points and rev limit. With the stock gears though its just a drop in unit and has a warrantee for 3 years 36000 miles not 90 days.

Here is text right off the site

All 4T60-E HD transaxles cost $3499.00US Shipping door to door is another $150.00 or $120.00 to the nearest airport within the United States. There is NO $1000.00 core charge!

I can do layaway too. I can also get 4t60-e HD stock but I don’t have a price on that yet.

Hey Ty! Warranty? High price though, even in USD. What is the final drive ratio as compared to mine (92 M13 with FW2 - 3.06 used with Grand Touring Pkg - Y56)? I am also "assumeing" that this unit of yours WILL handle 300HP!

Sorry the price is not my choice. Yes 3 year 36000.00 miles and this is any stock gear you want. Yes 300hp with no problem and it was designed to handle torque in the 400 range. Because the cost is definitely high I will pass the Limited slip addition on at cost. I am still waiting on my price for the limited slip.

TY
