Yes, the 96-99 gen is lighter. I believe SSuperchargedEi ran a 14.9@95mph bone stock with bad traction. He has a 98' SSEi.

Don't be offended, GXP owners. People are quite fond of the supercharged 3800s, and will quickly come to the defense of that motor. It doesn't mean you're wrong, or that their wrong. As Todd said so well, it'* all a matter of opinion and preference. When it comes to top end power and high speed cruising, you guys take the cake.

Todd was also saying that GM could have put a little more effort into the GXP to make it a fantastic car. As it stands, you've already got a pretty nice vehicle on your hands, but it didn't reach its full potential in the design phase. Don't be disheartened. You guys own great cars, and they're still Bonnevilles no matter how you slice it!
