Wow..guys...relax geez!
We're talkin apple and oranges here, we all know how the 3800 SC generates it power and where the Northstar generates it power.
I'm really getting frustrated with this SSEi vs GXP nonsense.
Constructive posting, lets curb the biased opinions.

Ignore those numbers, and let'* get 3 or 4 GXP'* to the track this year. I've driven a GXP, and my 93 will take it from 0-60.

My #'* were based on what'* been seen at the tracks publicly so far -as far as I know there have been no Bonneville GXP'* in the 14'*, in fact the best I recall was a 15.2 or something like that.
I have seen 2 bone stock 1997 SSEi'* that can/have pull a 14 second 1/4 mile -Sonoma_zr2'* with 228k'ish at the time on it'* original drivetrain, pull a 14.778 @ 93.xx mph, and my brothers 1997 SSEi with 210k bone-stock original -I have run 14.9'* in my 1995 SLE SC and even with more modding done he has still beat me by about 3-4 car lengths (one car length is typically .1 second at the track), thus given this accurate he'd have run a 14.5-14.7 second 1/4 -almost a .5 second advantage over the GXP.
The above is also going from a stop.
Going from, say, a 50 mph roll the GXP, I agree will win hands down, as that is where the stock GXP comes into it'* power and the stock SSEi starts coming out of it'* powerband.
Thus, I'd have to say that we are both correct.
Sorry for any hard feelings I might have caused -I was just stating what I have seen since the first GXP owners have been showing up here on BC and what'* been seen in the real world.
