I can call them on Monday and find out if we have that law or not. The whole thing sucks. I just want to get it over with, but Shane has to see his doctor again before they will talk about the settlement. So I won't know anything for sure probably until Tuesday or Wednesday. I'll keep you updated.

I have had first hand experience with situations like this and if there is injury at all you are better getting a very good lawyer and never sign out future related injures. My ex did that and paid all the rest of her life for it. Believe me I it is better to go the lawyer rout when the agents play games like this. I have two friends who were agents and believe me they will take you for a ride and a year is an optimistic time line. I would say with or without a lawyer you are looking at 1-2 years for injury issues. Get copies of the doctor files for yourself. I lawyers but GET ONE! Get a woman Lawyer Get a woman who is a …..

Not sure about where you live but up here in Canada you can get your car fixed WHERE YOU WANT. The insurance compnay can say what they want but you decide what gets done since it'* your car and not theirs.
But since it is from the other persons insurance it may be a bit harder but hey, they hit you so maybe if they brought it where you want you wont decide to be as hard on them for the medical claim .
Been there done that, I was rear eneded while I stopped for a bus letting off kids. Had I not been there she would have hit the kids, and I got charged, go figure. It was a woman driver that hit me, her woman friend as witness and a woman cop that investigated. Lets just say it got thrown out of court cause I took pics of the accident along with the "no skid marks " behind the car. Plus once I got a hold of a bus driver that seen the accident she was pissed that I got charged cause she though the car was headed for her and her testamony never showed up on the police report, go figure.
I ended up at the chiropractor for a good little while because of that but since I didn't let them call the ambulance to check me out I couldn't do anything.
Good thing about the situation was they replaced my back bumper , realigned the box on the truck and fixed a few dents on it. Her car got written off, that'* how hard she hit me.

Kind of off topic, sorry, but needless to say it'* your car and you should say where it is and isn't gonig to get fixed.

Forgot to mention before. They said not more than 1500$. Well you never know what they will find once they start working on it. Take for instance Jstpsntym'* car and when it looked like just a bit of cosmetic damage http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=434

Then ends up looking like this in no time http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=574

So make aure they take a REAL good look before they write the quote.

First off in CANADA YOU get to CHOOSE where YOUR car gets fixed! All you have to do is proveide 3 Estimates!

Amy, I was totalled in May, had surgery on my back in June, and my case is expected to settle by February....IF it doesn't go to jury. It all depends on the other insurance company. If it goes to Jury, it could be late next fall before a settlement. Just a heads up for ya.

Yeah for now, till they decide they (government) want another raise and decide to cut health care to get the raise. All in time, hehe.

That won't be the last thing, either. I saw on the news last week that your active duty military is down to 50,000. WTF? You guys gonna be ok up there? Things get too bad, run SOUTH. :?
