actually, gotta be totally honest here, between our 00 SLE and 00 SSEi the SLE is MUCH peppier around town and has better throttle response. The SSEi is only faster when it hits boost. Otherwise, it feels much slower.
something must be wrong.

A S2 without the */C belt on will run high 16s at 81-84mph. Its quite sad. Mine came off one time and I felt like I was standing in a mall naked. Helpless and weak.

test drive an SLE and an SSEi of the same generation and then tell me that I'm wrong.. Until then I guess you can keep on believing what you do.. However, why would you think a */c car without boost would be faster with a lower compression ratio, and a lower gear ratio? It wouldn't be UNTIL it hit boost. I've been driving the SLE for three days straight now, and am absolutely positive it'* peppier at low throttle and around town. Like I said, an SSEi is NOT fast until it hits boost. Otherwise, it'* kinda doggy. If you went full throttle, sure, the SSEi smokes the SLE.. but, otherwise, I gotta admit under light and normal driving, I prefer driving the SLE over the SSEi.

lol
I let my stepdad take my car out one cool Saturday morning for a little trip to pick up some breakfast. He told me he wanted to see what kind of power it had so he got up to 15-20mph and went to about 80% throttle and he said it squealed the tires and scared him so he got out of the gas right away. Yeah hes getting old

Back in 03, (where is this topic going? } my dad flew down to GA from MI in September because he needed my truck for the winter. Drive thru Atlanta sometime M-F at 530 in the morning, 6 lanes a 90 mph! I am in a FORD (92 F-150) and my dad is in my Bonnie. I am having no problem at all staying with traffic (in A Ford truck) while my dad is back about ~20 car and "concerned" about catching up (in an SSEi ). I did not know what to do, other than laugh at him
