Too bad man, when I frist read this I was parying to God that it wasn't from any work that you had done because I know you put a LOT of time into that car lately. Glad a heater plug is prolly all the cause. But now let'* figure WHY it failed?

yeah, it can be hit and miss with CDN tire, the one i go to, is usually really good, service counter people actually know there stuff well...but i have heard horror stories about the other location..
Bad luck Matt. Hope it didn't mess up that nice clean engine bay too badly. :(
That happened to me on my Jeep when it was brand new. I was out of town on a trip with my family when the kids were babies heading for the Ferry in Vancouver. It was a long weekend and nothing was open. Had to wait for hours on the side of the road for someone to stop...pre cell phone...missed the Ferry and the next day of work. It cost me big time for the tow and hotel expenses, not to mention the stress of crying babies and cranky wife.
Just be thankful it happened close to home.
I think I used my block heater once or twice since 1988.

They are becoming a pretty big ripoff. They are now up to 79$ an hour, 5$ an hour less than the stealership.
I had to go there on Friday since I needed new rotors on Malibu car BAD. I ran the Slotted rotors from RSM for 2 years but they were getting warped. I went with regular rotors and Monroe pads ( lifetime warranty on pads), plus one of my lower control arm busings was finished. I only go there since I know one of the mechanics. He did service the rear brakes for free, they re-balanced my front tires for free, and he did scan my car for the ABS code for free. Usually a scan there is 80$.
Rotors : 55$ each
pads: approx 60$
lower control arm bushing 14$
total bill 500$
I even told him that at those rates I only came there cause the other places I go are closed on Saturdays.
