Aside from the transmission not breaking down, there really couldn't have been a better ending. Nice roads, too.

The other very important thing that seems to be over shadowed lately is the series1 prototype intercooler project the week before. It was enlightning to watch Bill work through the one off ideas and untangle the myriad of challenges along the way. Was very honored to help out as I could

Need to mover your signature line 'hoosier slicks' to my sig. I got two sets of slicks now! Front and rear!

I'm actually glad this happened. You'd have had no help from your trans builder (he proved his lack of worth already), and it got things taken care of as they should have been a year and a half ago.

Kudos also to INTENSE. I was on the phone with them on an unrelated matter or two a couple days ago (in the middle of the mess) and was specifically asked for specific modes of failures and contact info for the shop. Simply because "we have some parts in that trans and want to know what failed". Not many vendors would make that effort. I was impressed, but not surprised.

Your help on the Zilla was invaluable. All you guys (especially you because of the extra time you spent here) saved me alot of time on this swap/build/setup. I have plenty of time to iron out the wrinkles now.

Default Truely inspirational!!

This truely is an amazing group of gifted individuals!! To know that this can happen with a bunch of folks, some of which haven't even met each other, restores my faith in people in general and especially this group for their generosity when things are dark or just a shade of gray! You people are A#1 in my book and this was another well deserved example of your selfless generosity and genuine care!!

My hat is off to all of you and congrats PDad, PMom and PIFamily!!

Broke the news of my adventure to my Mother today on yahoo, it really touched my heart and wanted to share it.
Quote:
ONeil Loza: Hows it goin eh?
Mom: good morning
Mom: you got home ok?
ONeil Loza: Yes, car is better than new now
Mom: good what was wrong with it?
ONeil Loza: Transmission let go on the I-5 about 130 miles from the Cnd border
ONeil Loza: Little town called Arlington
ONeil Loza: about 9am
Mom: oh how did you get it fixed?
ONeil Loza: got time for a long story?
Mom: sure your dad is sleeping
ONeil Loza: So ok, I went to Oregon to have some work done to my car, nothing major new super charger and tune up and to help a buddy pull the engine in his car and rebuild it.
Mom: yes I know Bill
ONeil Loza: Was going to be a mini meet with a few other Bonneville club members joining in. I staying an extra week to help out with the build and to meet with a few people to see about working down there.
ONeil Loza: The week down there was great, car was running fine, sun was shinning, I had a good interview with a guy I know from the sawmill industry who knows everyone in the business down there and who was what.
ONeil Loza: I talked to a few mills but not much going on right now and not that easy comming from canada
ONeil Loza: Nichole was haveing a **** time here and so Headed out at 3am on Sat the 9th to get back here. The trip was great, car was fine for 6 hours, I was not speeding either. I noticed the tranny temp starting to creep up and pulled into arest stop to have a look. No problems so I went to leave and back onto the freeway when it first started to slip and the car was jerking.....uh oh. I took the next exit barely and coasted into a parking lot.
Mom: oh lordy
ONeil Loza: From there I called AAA and was towed to a tranny shop. The tranny was dead and I was in the middle of no where. The shop was a small place but the owner was 110% nice guy. Rene White. Well what to do. I didnt have enough money to wait out the 5 days it would take to get the tranny fixed. But I figured I would give Bill a call and see if he could help out. WOW.
ONeil Loza: A few calls were made and John from Ellensburg washington came and picked me and gave me a place to stay.
Mom: oh boy
Mom: good
Mom: nice people out there
ONeil Loza: When I went to pick up the car on Wednesday they were late and the car wasnt ready. We went for lunch and came an hour later. When I went to write a cheque for what I Thought was going to be $1950us turned out to be $331 after the wonderfull club I belong to pitched and collected over $1600 in on behalf!!!
Mom: On'eil you are so damn lucky
ONeil Loza: blessed
Mom: yes you are blessed
Mom: how is Ralph doing Nichole said the cancer was back
ONeil Loza: He'* doing ok, they're comming here for the weekend.
Mom: oh good
ONeil Loza: So I made it home ok after than, about 11hour drive smooth with the lunar eclipse and a great running car. No problems at the border and the roads were fantastic.
Mom: thats real good glad you are home
ONeil Loza: The members of the Bonneville club are real speacial to Nichole and I, were very hounored to know such warm careing people. Its much more than just a car club.
Mom: yes it sure sounds that way
Mom: you got lucky when you joined that club
ONeil Loza: blessed
Mom: yes blessed
This place and the members means a lot

Shameless plug for Arlington Transmission. Great bunch of people. I had a few calls with them, they were impressed with Us, Pdad, and the club, as I was with them.

Arlington Transmission
405 N West Ave
Arlington, WA 98223
(360) 435-7355

They will be getting a little something from the Club for their help. More on that later.

Yes this club is amazing. PDad touched on it a bit in his last post. Last week had to be one of the worst weeks in history for me. I think God was taking a week off, or he just decided that everything had to go wrong that week......I thought for sure Christmas was going to be added to the mix just to screw things up even more!!

First my dryer died, and I mean died, I thought it may have frozen, but no it was dead.

Second, at 4:00AM on Sunday morning, I went to turn down the heat in the house, stepped over a toy, and instead of my foot coming down like it is supposed to, it kept going, and without me......I pulled my hamstring badly.

Third, on Wednesday my truck wouldn't start

Fourth, Thursday, my father calls to tell me his cancer is back and he needs six weeks of radiation.

Fifth, Friday my b*tch of an ex-boss calls me into her office (principal) to tell me that she is writing me up for being AWOL on Wednesday, even though I called to say I was not going to be in. I have since quit that job, and she is in some MAJOR trouble for bullying me

Sixth, Saturday, PDad calls to tell me that the transmission in Bone Evil is gone and he will not be home for a few more days

Then everything starts to turn around.......Bill calls to tell me everything will be alright, John takes O'Neil in. And then all of you FANTASTIC people give us such a generous gift. You all have made us feel like we can take on the world and we are truly blessed and honored to be part of this club.

Thank you all so much again, I know I keep saying thank you, but it is all I can do and it feels like it is not enough.

PMom... All I can say is sometimes when you are really far down and feel that you can't possibly fall any further only to hit a new bottom.... When you least expect it the clouds part and a ray of light comes shining through.... Hope things will get better for the both of you, your Kids and The Family..
