Goodness GRACIOUS, what'* this? :D
Don't I look cute in this fairy suit?
I heard a rumor that someone broke down (not brokeback) in Washington State recently.........what do we do in situations like that? Oh.....Ummm.....can't remember.
PIF 'EM! Pmom and Pdad, there seems to have been an accidental discharge of monetary funds directed at an obscure business bank account via wire transfer. The net effect should be MOST (if not all) of your transmission repairs PAID.
You been PIF'd.
Any member here can assure themselves that they can break down nearly anywhere in North America and get some kind of help. What'* been donated by members here isn't something you're expected to ever repay in any manner. Rather, it'* us repaying you this time around for your kindness, help, leadership, knowledge, and service to this Forum. Both of you have graciously dedicated yourselves as Moderator and Gearhead on this Forum, and have collectively helped hundreds, if not thousands of people.
Right now, Pdad is in driverjohn'* Explorer, on the two-hour trek to get his keys. Pmom is at work without internet access (Pmom, if you peek at this before he gets the car, don't spoil the surprise for him).
When Pdad gets to Arlington WA, he will find that our fine members, out of appreciation and kindness have graciously collected over $1600.00 and already paid it against your invoice at Arlington Transmission in WA (sure hope we paid the right shop! ). Rene White (owner) was very impressed by the fact that you were such people that so many others would want to help.
I don't know the exact invoice total, but it looks like you'll only be out of pocket about 300 bucks, not including other donations that are trickling in.
For those that missed out (it'* hard to communicate this to the masses and still keep it a secret), Pdad blew his trans (see West Coast Mini-Meet in Your Ride) on the way home from Oregon where he'd already driven 22 hours straight, through two avalanches, 4 dead Moose (mooses? Meeses?) and was on the way home after spending a week down here helping willwren, myfirstbonnie, SSEiMatt93, and driverjohn2005.
If you missed out, and would like to contribute, you can still donate by sending a paypal to harofreak00 (harofreak00 at hotmail dot com on paypal).
To those that have generously donated, we all thank you, and we all share the great feeling this type of thing gives us. This is a great community. Every little bit was a sacrifice for everyone that donated.
Godspeed on the drive home, Pdad. Get back to your family with a warm feeling in your heart. You have a big family here, too.

Many thanks go out to John, Cole, and CaddyMatt also for their generous hospitality on our behalf. It'* good to know there'* so many good people all over this continent. You can always turn to someone for some help, hosting, or comfort.
From what I hear, many thanks go out to Pdad for fixing a bunch of stuff while he was there, and for 'detailing' the men'* room and microwave. He did that here, too.
More proof in the pudding to why this was the right thing to do.
