Goodbye Bonneville club...
I just found out this morning that my insurance company is going to total our '05 Bonneville GXP. The estimate initally came at $12k, but by the time they tear into it, the adjuster thinks it will be quite a bit more. July 5th would have marked the 1st anniversary of purchasing it. We are sorry to see it go, but it served us well, and protected my wife when she needed it most.
We are seriously considering an '06 Jeep GC SRT8. A local dealer has a black '05 Bonneville GXP, but it's a demo with 4k miles and $31k on the windshield. Plus, my wife says that she would feel safer in an SUV, so that's the way we're going to go. Thanks again for all of the helpful advice, support and friendship that you have given us through this board. It has greatly enhanced our ownership experience! Good luck everyone and stay safe. :D |

What is the insurance company giving you for the car. I would assume somewhere around $25,000 would be right? |
Sad to hear your car was totaled, but from what youve posted I kinda figured it would go that way. Youve been a great member Greystone and I hope your bad luck wont keep you from staying in the Club ..... Hell some of our members own Fords.....well 1 member in particular Used to own a Ford untill recent events blew it up. Dont be a stranger man. I cant knock you on your choice- Good Luck!

Sorry to hear about your car, and I hope you can stick around. That GC sounds like a good choice. I was looking at one this weekend. Nice looking cars, especially with that big ole 6.1L Hemi. What a gas guzzler, though, 15MPG Hwy.

Yeah, hate to see a nice car like your GXP get totaled - but best of luck with whatever you get next! I guess you could say that wel like everyone of the SRT vehicles as they are all pretty tough straight from the factory. The GC SRT-8 really stands out from just about everyone else's SUV for sure. Let us know what you end up getting & take care...

I'm confused. If an accident proved a car to be extremely safe...why move into an SUV that's known to be easier than the car to roll and admittedly Dodges aren't the best rated in crash tests.
And yes..I consider Jeep to be a Dodge since they are the builder. |
INSURANCE COMPANIES SUCK!!!
Sorry to hear of your loss. Glad your wife was okay after the accident. Future Good luck!! |

I would go for a 300C Srt8 if I were you but I am guessing rear wheel drive would be a concern for your wife. The Trailblazer SS is one hot suv as well.
