Hi i am a member of bonnevilleclub.com and we have some questions concerning a gold edition bonneville during 92-95. Was this factory or aftermarket, and if it was factory what makes it a gold edition. Here is the url of the post http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...ic.php?t=29296. Thanks for your help

there was NEVER an option as I and willwren have said. they were most likely a dealer "addition" that added to the price of hte car

From what I've heard the Gold Package was a dealer-installed option, not a factory option.
I've seen this package on 1994-1996 Grand Prix Aero SE Coupe and GTP'* also.

I'll third what Bill and 93 SLE said....there is no such thing from the factory. This is a dealer add on, nothing more. Remember all the gold emblemed Camrys and Lexuses you saw a few years ago?? Gold was all the craze....

I know we're still waiting for The Word to come down from Pontiac, but I have seen several of these around central Ohio. I can be fairly certain that there are at least fifteen in Columbus(parked in different driveways so fairly certain not the same car multiple times).
I'd say it was probably a Pontiac produced/dealer installed packeage. That wouldn't show up on the factory option sheet, but it would account for the nationwide sightings.
Chrysler did a lot of that kind of thing with the LeBaron and the Prowler.

My '93 SSE was similar. I don't recall "gold edition' badging, but the stripes and trim emblems were all gold. Looked nice on the black background.
