Default gearing up for transmission service.

well now that i've got the van back on the road i want to start fixing some of those issues that i've been "dealing with" thus-far.

i hope to throw on a mini-mod day in the near future. dropping my pan for a fluid and filter change. at the same time i'd like to add a tranny cooler and remove the complete A/C system. the system is already bypassed so it'* really just dead weight. i hope to make minor gains through the 30-40 pounds less and maybe additional airflow to the radiator.

my question (and the reason i put this in P&B) is are there a performance fluid like a synthetic that i can swap to for any small gains, or would a synthetic just be more expensive for the same effect?

anything else i can do whilst i'm in there?

you know you hate me...

Overall...fluid is fluid. As long as it'* designed to work in the trans.

In this case..synthetic is really only more of an expensive fluid than much else. If you had a new trans, or were doing a full fluid change, maybe.

Honestly..why spend the extra. Put it in something else.

Use a name-brand NON synthetic. There is no such thing as performance trans fluid.

The 4T60/65 sometimes don't like synthetic. They slip...

Some ppl. have done it and loved it. But most change back within a week or so, and the trans operates perfect after putting plain old fluid back in it.

If you want to put something in that will help prolong its life, put a bottle of Lucas Trans Fluid Stabilizer-that stuff is the shiznit!
