THe dot to show P R N OD D 21 isn't working and my performance shift word isn't lit either. Is this a fuse blown or the amber is gone?

Are you talking about the red bulb that shows what gear you are in? That is a bulb. And so is the performance shift button light. Others on this site have worked on those.

I fixed mine once thought the bulb had burned out but what happened is the wire some how got cut. I do believe that the light for the gears and the mode you're in are different. To fix it I had to take out the armrest and stuff around the shifter.

ssesc93... I don't mean to hijack your post... but what is this "performance shift" light/button?

I own a 91 NA, nice car... but I'm missing the SC and I guess now some "performance shift" option. Does it make a big difference? I'm assuming harder shifts. What years was this an option on?

Your not hijacking. I don't mind you asking a question. Thats what we are here for, moere knowledge of this damn car, LOL!! Anyway the Performance Shift comes standard with the supercharged option. On WOT, it gives an extra 1000 rpm from 4400 to 5500, I think, or 5400. No dramatic changes and it helps the transmission downshift faster. THats all. Go get a big body. Ule love it

Is it a button you can push to turn it on/off, or does it come on automatically with WOT?

I drove a 2000 SSEi a few weeks ago, and I didn't notice such a button. Of course I drove for 20mins before I remembered that the model came with a HUD. hehe

Don't you just hate it when you drive a car you really like and get sso excited that after you finished you forget to notice what the car has and forget to check out the stuff? I hope you know what I mean 'cause I can't never explain stuff correctly. On the 2000+ models, the car has raw power. No buttons. The 92-99 */C has a Performance Shift and a Normal Shift. If you hit one button the other goes off and vice versa. Thats all.

Correction: The performance shift button LIMITS the shifts to an economy level in normal. In Performance, it allows shifts at the same rpm level of a car without the option. This was verified between a 93SSE (Jseabert, without the option) and a 93SSEi (mine, pre-chip, with the option).

Ah... phew.... so that means my car is running in "performance mode" (aka "gas guzzling mode" & "normal mode") all the time.... At least it'* not something "big" I'm missing out on by having an older 91.
