Funny Noise.... ?
Hey,
I hear from time to time a funny noise from the front end of my car. It comes from the front passenger side. I hear it towards the floor on the same side. I have my girl try to pin point exactly where she hears but I can't figure out what it is. It almost sounds like it is coming from the panel surrounding the wheels. But it drives me crazy because I can't figure it out. It sounds like maybe the trim or the panel is loose around there. Is any of this making any sense or does anyone know what it is or how to fix it ?

-- Car moving or standing still? Or does it matter?
-- Turning corners or driving straight?
-- Banging? Thumping? Squealing? Rattling? etc...
With no other clues to go on, my first guess would be rattling heat shield on the convertor, or an exhaust system touching the underside of the body...

I didn't realize I didn't say more about that noise. Well it makes that noise when I am driving it. It makes a small thumping noise when I hit a small bump. It doesn't rattle or anything like that it just makes a small thumping sound when I hit small bumps. And the streets by my house are not so good so when I drive there I hear it. It'* nothing serious just getting annoying after a while because it'* all I hear and I have to find out what it is.

I had a rattle when driving over bumps AND I just found/fixed the cause.
After tightening, taping, foam wrapping anything I could move as well as removing the spare tire and foam wrapping the battery - nothing stopped that noise which seemed to come from front or back or front left wheel depending on nothing it seemed.
I found my rattle was from the hood! I had it raised and my hand slipped off when about to close it and I heard a VERY similar rattle as it went back up and fully extended. So I loosened the bolts to the hood latch bracket near the radiator, moved the bracket down about 1/8 inch...never another rattle again.
