Default free engine diagnostic

Is there anything thats not harmful to my car I can disconnect so my engine light will come on and I can get a free reading at autozone or somewhere?

Make sure they can scan your car first...

I'd pull the TPS and get a code 22.

why dont you just scan your codes yourself?

Disconnect the IAT sensor. Code 23, and it takes 2 seconds.

Autozone won't 'scan' your car anyway. Being a 92, they'll do what Techinfo tells you to do.

ok thanks, I just wanted to make sure I didn't have any stored codes on there. I did what techinfo reads and I didn't retrieve any codes so I guess I'm good.

The procedure in Techinfo will only tell you CURRENT codes, if there'* a light. It will NOT tell you HISTORY codes that have cleared. A true scantool will.
